pepeD Meaning

PepeD is an animated Twitch emote of Pepe the Frog dancing from side to side with his hands in the air. It is mostly used to express approval of the music being played but can also be used to express joy.

pepeD Origin

PepeD was first uploaded to the Twitch emote extension BetterTTV on June 6th, 2018, by user garysch. There aren’t very many animated emotes even now, so when this came out on June 6th it gained quite the amount of popularity from the start.

Not only that, but there are only a few emotes that have to do with the approval of music the streamer you are watching is currently playing.

PepeD had a pretty steady rise to fame through the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019. This was when a handful of some of the most popular streamers enabled it in their chat around the same time, such as xQc, MOONMOON, and AdmiralBulldog as well as a few more.

After that, it was an extremely well-used emote which led to even more streamers enabling it in their chat causing a wildfire effect.

Example

If a streamer puts on an awesome song or music in general, deploy the pepeD’s.
