EZ Meaning

EZ is an emote of Pepe the Frog with a smirk on his face, wearing a black jacket with a popped collar and sunglasses. It stands for “easy” and is usually used to say exactly that, anything that is easy!

EZ Origin

The phrase “EZ” has been around for a while on the internet, being used as far back as 2003 on Urban Dictionary. It made its way into the gaming world most notably in League of Legends and Overwatch. It became a toxic way to troll the other team saying they were no competition and that you had an easy win.

The emote was added to BTTV on June 28, 2015 by user helloboat and is one of the Top 10 most used BTTV emotes.

These days on Twitch, the emote is used when anything easy happens. It can apply to lots of different scenarios, like a streamer doing something cool/epic, or of course winning a game or making a great shot. Can also be used ironically to make fun of a streamer, and can also be combined with other emotes, for example “gg ez” or “EZ clap.”
